Meet The Coaches

Luke

Founder & Resilience Coach

Luke Read is the founder of Airborne Fit, launched in 2017 after eight years in the 2nd Battalion, Parachute Regiment, including two tours of Afghanistan. Drawing on military camaraderie and team spirit, he built Airborne Fit to foster community, resilience, and ego-free training.

A passionate ultra runner and committed fundraiser, Luke has raised over £100,000 for local charities, supporting families, children, and hospitals. His mission is clear: build a fitness culture that backs each other just like he did in the Parachute Regiment.

Michael (MJ)

Running Specialist & Strength Coach

MJ has been an integral part of the Airborne coaching team for six years. You’ll either find him coaching our early morning classes, leading our Run Club or helping clients on the gym floor. He’s passionate about showing our members how strength training can progress their running, protect them from injury and create a perfect balance to their training.

MJ is a Dad so understands the challenges of fitting training in around busy parenting. He was previously Fitness Editor at Men’s Health Magazine, so is partial to the odd bicep curl…or two.
